On Sunday, September 29, Hyde Park Open Studios (HPOS) celebrates its eleventh year as one of the most anticipated arts events in Hyde Park. More than 70 artists are expected to participate, showing a variety of work that includes photography, painting, sculpture, printmaking, glass, textiles, multimedia, jewelry, drawing and decorative arts. HPOS provides visitors an opportunity not only to 'check out the art,’ but also to meet with artists, ask questions and learn about making art. Artists will host workshops throughout the afternoon. Showcasing the arts within and throughout the community, HPOS brings artists and community together.
The event takes place at four venues in Hyde Park—65E Sprague Street, The Lofts at 1 Westinghouse Plaza, 1391 Hyde Park Ave and the Menino Arts Center at 26 Central Avenue. Free shuttle buses will drive continuous loops between the four venues starting at noon. Visitors are invited to park and ride. Parking is available at each venue, with overflow parking at Sprague and Westinghouse. Adding to the ambiance, professional musicians will perform at each venue.
Hyde Park Open Studios is a grassroots effort. It relies on volunteer support: artist registration fees and donations from local businesses and individuals like you help toward underwriting costs. Should you wish to make a contribution, promoting the arts in Hyde Park, feel free to contact us.
