Wood and Metal

Artist's statement:

Beauty is everywhere if we can see it: veins in a leaf, knots in wood grain, sunlight glinting on a puddle. A gem-like beetle, single flower, or a smile returned –  stop, look, breathe. If you see something beautiful you've passed a hundred times, my art has succeeded.

Influenced by the times & places people live close to the earth, I work as much as possible with found wood, scrap metal, discarded stone - the castoffs in which imagination can find beauty – to share transcendent joy, and complete acceptance.  We are so utterly beautiful – may all who see this work feel the light of hope, the value of the overlooked, and know the radiance of everyday nirvana that enfolds us.
